Ever since Loki’s failed attempt to rule earth, he had been forced back home to Asgard and had been in this cursed prison cell and he felt ready to go mad!
The jail cell reminded him of the cell in which the humans had imprisoned him, and while he hadn’t acted impressed, he had felt that he had been at least inconvenienced in that thing. But this was worse… This was a proper cell for him, something that had been built specifically for him. He was confined in a tank-like prison which gave him no privacy and the various magics on it prevented him for practicing even the smallest, most harmless magic to keep himself occupied. All he could do was to sit and think on his crimes, to think about what he had done.
He sighed as he lay on his back, trying to sleep. Sleeping passed the time, allowed him to dream and escape this place, but he couldn’t sleep today and he tossed and turned irritably, grumbling to himself. He rolled to his belly and lifting his hands before his face, tried for the umpteenth time to create a small flame. But as he tried, there was a sensation of his magic being suppressed and the flame never came. He hated this sensation even worse… They had left him his magic, he could feel it swirling around inside of him, but while he could feel it, feel its power, he could never access it! Every time he tried, he was denied something that was rightfully his and it was slowly chipping away at his sanity! He tried every day though, just because he was unable to NOT try.
Idly, he wondered where Thor was. Time passed differently in Asgard than on earth, but he could still tell it had been three earth months since Thor had come to see him. Why? Was there another mess on earth? He smiled at that though, his mischievous nature loving the idea of trouble for his brother and he started to pass the time by imagining various scenarios that would plague the earth, another pastime he had grown very fond of.

Thor smiled widely to himself as he headed for his brother’s prison. He hadn’t visited in quite some time, because he hadn’t wanted Loki to see him in his injured state from his last misadventures with the Avengers. However, now, he was as healthy as ever, and had borrowed a little souvenir for his brother from Nick Fury. He carried the technology in a sealed case, that he had permitted nobody to touch... he was going to enjoy this immensely. Of course, he had absolutely no intention of hurting his adopted brother, but there was no way Loki could know that until the thunder god had had his fun.
He had been discussing how Loki was doing with the guards over the last couple of days, and had learned that the other god was apparently not faring very well... boredom seemed to be gradually driving him mad, and living in a small, transparent cell more than likely made him very irritable and restless... so if anything, he should be PLEASED to see his brother... at least Thor would represent some intelligent conversation and something different. Though any pleasure he felt for his blonde brother would rapidly disappear when he realised the nature of what he had brought with him, though it would be too late by then.
As he passed the guards for Loki’s cell, he gave them a smile, and told them to take half an hour off. Knowing better to question him, they bowed out of his presence, and Thor rubbed his hands together eagerly for a moment before opening the door and stepping into the containing chamber for Loki’s glass prison, which was set in the middle of the room.
Closing the door after himself, Thor strode up to the glass, smiling, but only subtly. “Hello Loki,” he said, knowing that his voice could travel through the walls of the prison. “I thought it was high time I paid you a visit... I brought you a present from Earth...”

Just as he was getting deeper into his fantasy of imagining his child the midgard serpent destroying the earth, Loki was jarred out of these pleasant thoughts by a familiar voice. He sat up and made a face as he saw Thor had come into his chamber, smiling at him through the glass. Sitting up, Loki drew himself together, saying, “Well, the Mighty Thor has come to visit his lowly, criminal brother… How touching.” While Loki was glad to see Thor, there was currently very little love between the two. He was only glad for the change of scenery and had no intention to be kind to the demi-god verbally. “Enjoying looking in on the fish in his tank?”
As Thor then mentioned he had a present, Loki was instantly suspicious. Being such a trickster himself, he knew how wary one had to be of ‘gifts’. “Well, how kind of you.” he said, making no move to get up. “Has your guilt finally persuaded you to come and admit your wrongs and make peace with me?” Loki knew very well that he had been in the wrong, but he loved to make others angry with talk like this, to make them want to defend themselves, which caused him great amusement. “And however did you get the time to come? I thought that the humans had you on a tight leash as their new pet!”

Thor wasn’t surprised as he was met with venom and snide, sharp comments, “I see you’re on form, and haven’t changed a bit.” He said, still looking as cheerful as before, wanting to make it very clear that Loki wasn’t going to bother him, no matter what he tried to throw at him in terms of insults. “As for being a pet, well, I suppose that’s better than being a joke... I mean really... that outfit you had... with the helmet?” he put his hands over his head to imitate the horns. “You know, they sell little novelty plush toys of you in shops there... you’re quite the laughing stock.” He said, deciding to return the man’s venom to him just as sharply... only in a more jovial, mocking way. “I take it, from your cheerful demeanour that you’re not enjoying being a fish in a tank.” He knelt down and opened the case with the technology in it, “Well. I have something here that’ll solve that little problem for you.” He lifted out the cylinder very carefully, holding it up for Loki to see. “This is an ingenious little creation, I’m sure you’ll find its effects quite fascinating.” He knew the other god would be highly suspicious of the item, understandably so... but he wouldn’t have a choice in this, so it mattered little what Loki thought.
“In fact, I’m going to show you what it does right now!” He said. He had been planning to converse for a little longer, but since Loki was in such a sour mood, it would be more fun to get on with this... he had been eagerly awaiting it for a long time now after all. Setting the timer in the cylinder, he set it down carefully outside the cell, against one of the glass walls. “I’m just going to wait outside, but I’ll be back in just a few moments.” He said, and without waiting for further response from his sibling, he picked up the case, and left the room, closing the door securely after himself, and waiting, counting down the seconds he had set into the timer, and smiling widely as he heard the distant noise that the cylinder made when it went off. Then he waited a little longer... to give Loki a chance to take in what had happened to him.

Loki was irritated as Thor didn’t take the bait and only remained cheerful and smiling. As Thor then spoke of Loki’s armor, he bristled inside. He knew it was pointless to explain that the ‘horns’ on his helmet had acted as focal points for his magic, making it stronger than it had been before, and he only smiled in a bitter way, saying, “The fool always laughs at what he cannot hope to comprehend. I am not surprised that the earth people are so shallow as to only think of my physical appearance.” As Thor then mocked him for being a fish, Loki stood up, walking nearer to his brother as he replied in a bored tone, “No, I do not like being a big fish in a small tank. Though it is comforting to know that one day the tank will be too small to possibly contain and control me…” He was now right next to Thor and he could feel the magic around his brother, magic that his brother only knew the side-effects of. Thor only knew that his innate magic kept him invulnerable, gave him control of his hammer, granted him control of lightening… but that was nothing compared to his REAL potential. If Loki could only tap into that inner magic, he would be ruler of the entire universe, not just Asgard!
But the magic was still frustratingly out of his reach and he could only simmer and steam inwardly as Thor moved about freely, now showing him something. That was supposed to help him? Was it a… toy of some kind? Something to occupy him? He knew Thor would never actually let him escape, so what could it be? Loki frowned as Thor stated he would show him what it did and then began to fiddle with the device and then abruptly left!
Loki watched him go, and then kneeled, peering at the object just out of his reach. There was no feeling of magic near it, so it had to be some kind of technology… But he wasn’t familiar with it, so what could it possi--
There was a blinding flash and the next thing Loki knew he was laying on his back, blinking like an owl in the daylight. He shut his eyes as the light pained him and he rolled to his side, groaning. What had happened?! Had Thor actually set an explosive by his cell?! Why? Thor was no trickster, he was too perfect for that, so why would he do such a thing?
As he got to his hands and knees, Loki forced his eyes open and then blinked. The device was still on the other side of the cell wall… but it was much, much bigger now. Cautiously, Loki looked around, his heart beating faster. Everything was HUGE! What magic was this?! Why was he smaller? But his mind whirled and he instantly checked himself and found in dismay that his magic was still locked from him. Well, perhaps he could escape now? Perhaps the magical boundaries couldn’t detect one so small?
Though he felt weak and sick, Loki started to explore the cell, trying to get out, feeling stronger and more clear-headed over time, but still not able to get out or fix himself.

After he felt Loki had had enough time to realise and assess his situation, Thor opened the door and returned to the room, walking over to the tank and smiling as he saw his brother, so small and vulnerable, exploring on the other side of the cell... presumably hoping that his new size would grant him freedom. Pleased to see this had all gone perfectly to plan, Thor opened the door of the tank, and stepped inside, closing it after himself and looking at his brother. “It’s not so pleasant when someone plays pranks on you, now is it?” he said, looking self-satisfied. “I can assure you, your escape is just as impossible now as it was before, and your magic is, if anything, even further out of your reach.” Now it was time for HIM to be the manipulative, tricky one... he was going to give his sibling false hope before snatching it away and giving him the scare of his life. “I didn’t lie though... this will help you.” he said, “At this size, and with your magic so secured away, I’ve been granted permission to take you out into other areas... so that you’re not trapped in your tank ALL the time.”
The plan was, to trick Loki into trusting him... carry him off to his rooms, leaving a fake Loki to occupy the tank (a trick inspired by the man himself of course)... and have his fun in private. “If you’re wondering why I would do something like that for you, then let me explain.” He smiled a little, tapping into the old arrogance, that he had used to allow to be such a huge part of him, before he learned the error of his ways... this would make him more associable and believable to Loki. “I’ve been starting to see small ways in which you were correct, since the humans have been worshipping me...” Of course this wasn’t the truth... but as a saviour of the planet, it wasn’t unbelievable. “And I think your sanity, and chances of being released, might benefit from us having talks... talks which we cannot have in your cell.”
He knew there was a high risk that the trickster would choose not to believe him... but the desperate often believed anything that they were told if it was what they wanted to hear... perhaps Loki was desperate enough to take this bait?

Hearing thunderous footsteps, Loki looked up and he felt his heart sink as Thor came back into view, smiling hugely. So his brother had planned this. That did NOT bode well for Loki. As his brother entered into the tank, Loki did the only thing he could and ran under the bed he had been provided, hiding there and staring out at his enormous sibling, shaking inside. Comparing himself to the objects now towering above him, Loki realized that he was about 5 inches tall now, hardly the size of Thor’s hand! As Thor then started to taunt and tease him about still being a captive, Loki fumed, but said nothing. There was something about the way that Thor carried himself now that didn’t sit right with the little god. It was something untrustworthy and he had no intention of approaching Thor. Something was wrong…
As Thor continued to speak, Loki had to admit he was curious. The mere idea of not being trapped in this tank all the time was highly appealing to him, but he was still cautious. Who had said Thor could do this? Where had he gotten the technology to do this? Why was he really doing this?
Almost as if reading his thoughts, Thor then started to explain why he was doing this, and Loki listened, interested. So apparently Thor wasn’t as void of vision as Loki had thought! He had realized that he had been right, partially at least, and walked to talk more about this! Interesting… but almost too perfect. Thor wanted to take him back to his room for these talks and Loki wasn’t so sure about this. There was a gleam in Thor’s eyes Loki had only ever seen in monsters and giants before. And actually, now Thor WAS a giant to Loki!
Peeking out a little from his shelter, Loki then said, “You’ll forgive me if I’m a little suspicious… but how do I know I can trust you?” He then thought about it, knowing that Thor had never lied to him or tricked him, and then asked curiously, “How long would we stay out of my cell? Would I get to be normal sized again?” As suspicious as he was of this whole thing, Loki had to admit that the idea of freedom, even at a tiny size, was just too intriguing and enticing for him to reject it outright. Even if Thor wanted to just prove his power and might over his brother again, Loki could care less because he would be out of this cursed cell! He watched Thor’s face carefully, trying to see if he could make out anything in the man’s expressions that would give away what he was planning.

Thor watched as Loki clearly processed what he was saying... not as convinced as Thor would have liked, but nonetheless pleased with how this was going... the man hadn’t rejected his proposal outright, and from the questions he asked, clearly he was at least very curious. “You don’t know that you can trust me... but I can’t hurt you, and you can’t hurt me... and there’s nothing I can really do to you that’s worse than this, is there?” he said, gesturing around at the tank, knowing how much Loki hated his prison. He knelt down, to make himself less daunting, but made no attempt to grab for his brother yet, not wanting to alarm the tiny man unduly. “As for how long we would be out, it would vary... a few hours perhaps, as long as we wanted to talk, and depending on where we wished to go. As for your size, you would have to remain as you are now for the duration of your time out of the... containment... that’s part of the deal. But once you’re returned, your size will be restored to normal.” He was pleased with the size that Loki had become... the small, three inch size would be fun... but this way was going to feel truly amazing for him... not so much for Loki. He gave his now tiny brother a chance to process this, being sure not to stare at him too hard... not wanting to seem overly predatory... even though he did feel it, an odd urge at having something he so disliked within such close proximity... helpless and tiny. He made sure to keep that hidden, and his face neutral, if slightly pleased with himself... but that could be interpreted in any number of ways, especially if he were to convince his sibling that he was starting to develop a bit of a dark side... to trick Loki into thinking he was safe, and had a bit of hope of escape.
He had never done anything deceitful like this before... but he was finding that he quite enjoyed it! He would never use it in the ways his brother had, but he was certainly finding it entertaining to use it against someone who abused such abilities in the worst possible ways... yes... Thor was really going to enjoy this.

As Thor then replied to him, Loki couldn’t help but still feel suspicious of all this. It seemed too perfect, too convenient… and the way his brother was looking at him also alerted Loki to concealed intentions. The man was hiding something… but what? What was it that Thor needed to hide? To be clear, Loki wasn’t scared for his life. He knew that while his brother might punish him or humiliate him, he wouldn’t HARM him. That was against his moral code.
Even Loki held to such a code. When he had battled the Avengers and he had dropped his brother from the Floating Fortress, he had known that the fall would not kill his brother. Injure him and make him unable to fight for a while, which would have been to Loki’s advantage? Yes. But it would not at all have KILLED him. While he had no love for his brother, Loki still respected him enough that he didn’t want him DEAD.
Thor looked pleased with himself for some reason and Loki couldn’t figure out why. Was it because he had managed to surprise his brother and force him down to this tiny, vulnerable size? But this was nothing new… Thanks to Loki’s magic, he was well versed in changing his physical being into many sizes and shapes of being… Thor must have just been thrilled to have gotten the drop on his brother for once.
Loki had to admit that the idea of some freedom from this tank was an enticing offer, but he stayed under the bed, watching his brother and wondering if he was being too paranoid. Thor seemed to have started to come around to his manner of thinking, so perhaps he was being honest and did just want to talk. And he had a point about neither of them being able to harm the other…
Cautiously, Loki took a step out, still watching his brother. While he did not fear his brother, he was still cautious as to his REAL motives. He paused while still a bit under the bed, asking, “Why now? Why do you do this for me now? Why not earlier?” He asked and then smiled, “Oh, wait. You needn’t answer. The humans were using their pet to their advantage. Of course you couldn’t spare time to see me! But tell me… how does it feel to be regarded as nothing but a tool? An object worthy of praise, but not of true recognition as a living being?” He had often found in the past that getting someone irritated or upset often caused them to say things that hinted at their true purpose, so maybe this would work now.

Thor chuckled slightly as Loki spoke, clearly still trying his hardest to get him annoyed, probably intending to get a real answer out of him... that was a good thing, because it meant that the little man hadn’t the slightest clue what he was planning, and wanted to know. Still... he had taken one bold little step forward, which was a good sign, it showed that he knew he wasn’t going to be harmed. At the question, Thor rubbed his chin slightly, thinking about a good way to answer. “Well...” he said thoughtfully, “For being a pet, it certainly feels a lot like being worshipped.” He shrugged slightly, “It matters little, I still come and go as I please unless there is something to be done... which was the reason I did not come to visit you. Pet or not, I still have friends who rely on me.” He smiled slightly, “It occurs to me that you referring to me as a pet is ironic... when you are the one confined to a tank.” He said, leaning in to look more closely at the little man. “Why... they haven’t even left you capable of using the most basic magic... that must be frustrating...” He recalled how hard it had been for him to be unable to use his powers when he had needed them... Loki’s weren’t even fully disabled... he could sense how the magic was building up inside the man... that would lead to something bad eventually, if something wasn’t done about it... he’d have to think on that.

Loki fumed as Thor easily brushed aside his insults and only focused on how he was being worshipped by the humans. That stung Loki, as he knew how close he had been to having such a position of power himself, but of course, he had been forced aside and his high and mighty brother had stolen his place. He scowled as Thor mocked him again for being in his prison but as he was about to retort, Loki fell into silence as Thor leaned forwards, peering at him. The huge god was crouching down, his size and mass reminding Loki far too easily how tiny and helpless he was now. He knew Thor could sense his magic, just as he could sense Thor’s, and it annoyed him that his brother was also able to take that injury and mock him with it.
Crossing his arms, Loki wondered how to deal with all this. Thor wanted him to come out and go with him obviously, but to do so would make Thor happy, since it meant that he felt he could control his smaller brother like this. Though he knew he was risking his potential, miniscule freedom, Loki crossed his arms, looking cross. “Since you seem to only want to insult and mock my position, why should I consider going with you to talk in private?” He looked around him. “As much as I would adore some fresh air, the notion of having to gain it by enduring more of your insults is rather… distasteful.”

Thor sat up slightly as Loki questioned why he should go with him, but nonetheless expressed a wish to come out... his desire was more than obvious, and Thor did feel a small pang of pity for the man’s situation. It was true he had done terrible, terrible things to deserve it... but this tank was very small, and he doubted he would have stayed sane here as long as Loki had. Nodding a little at the man’s words, he held up his hands, “Loki... if you think about it, you would realise that I have only insulted you, in direct response to your insulting me, and attempting to aggravate me?” He gave a small smile, “If you cease the personal attacks on me, then I will stop making aggravating statements about your... situation.” This was something Loki would find hard to deny, since it was the obvious truth. “We can talk about other things, discuss the state of the world... discuss how aggravating Tony Stark is...” he knew this would be hard for Loki to resist, because he had hated the way Stark defied him time and again, with complete self-confidence... and whilst Thor himself had grown fond of the man, Loki had seen their initial dislike for each other, and struggles over power... so it wouldn’t be hard for the man to assume that this had continued outside of battle. “It is up to you.”

While he felt no shame, Loki had to admit that Thor was right. He was silent for a while as Thor discussed other topics, unable to stop a smile as the man offered a chance for them to discuss Stark, that annoying weakling. He had only been strong with his armor on! After a moment, Loki weighed the evils of his predicament.
If he denied Thor’s company, he would probably be stuck in this tank again, left to his own mind and his inability to do the slightest magic and the boredom. He would be safe and secure, but he would probably go mad.
If he agreed and went with Thor, however, he would get to be outside of his tank, which in itself was a wonderful thought. He would have someone to speak with other than himself and he would have the slight possibility of escape, as he would be outside of the magical containment spells. He doubted this would help him as he would still have to be small while outside of the cage, but perhaps it would be to his benefit somehow?
After a while of tossing the ideas back and forth, Loki sighed and looked up at his brother… and started to walk out from under the bed, saying, “While I still have my suspicions, as I’m sure you can understand… I have to say it will be a delight to be free of this tank, however briefly, even in such a ridiculous, diminutive size.” Loki still had a feeling that this wasn’t a good idea, but he knew Thor wouldn’t hurt him and it was better than being stuck in his cell all alone!

Thor nodded slightly in approval of this as Loki finally emerged and granted permission to go somewhere else. “I thought you would see it that way,” he said. “Now... another thing as part of the agreement is that we make sure the guards and public are not aware of your... absence, so as not to disturb the way things are, so on this first trip, you’re to be hidden as we go somewhere else,” he opened up the case that had held the technology, and brought out a small, magical projector, which he set down in the room and switched on, causing a solid, realistic looking hologram double of his brother to appear, pacing the cell. “A trick that you are familiar with I believe.” he said, “And it is my hope that you won’t be too insulted when I ask you to ride in the case for the short trip somewhere more private.” He said, gesturing to it, “It’s well padded, and will only take a few moments... I believe it is the more favourable option than being found that way...” he gestured to his brother to indicate his small stature. “By the guards.” He put a hand beside the case in a fist shape, to give the man an easy step up into the case... he knew that the idea of stepping on him, even just his hand, would be a hard to resist bait for Loki. He had thought this out very thoroughly after all.

Loki frowned slightly as Thor mentioned that no one was to know that he was out of his cell. While that made sense, Loki questioned the fact that Thor had to do something in SECRET. The man never did anything in secret! He loved to boast and brag and be loud about his deeds, so why was he insisting on silence now? But again, Loki weighed his evils and still leaned towards going along with his brother for now. He then blinked as Thor brought out a small device that radiated such magic that it was like a warm wave of water for Loki and he sighed a little, enjoying the raw, warm sensation. Frustratingly, he was unable to tap into it thanks to the magic surrounding him, but it was a reassuring feeling nonetheless.
He gaped however when Thor activated it and the most horribly fake magical double of himself started to pace the cell. How could ANYONE be fooled by that?! That was a child’s attempt! Loki had done better in his SLEEP! But then again, he was the most skilled sorcerer in Asgard, so it made sense in a way that everyone else could be so easily tricked by such horribly-done magic.
The little god then paused and frowned as Thor opened the case for him, saying that he had to go inside of it. “From one cage to another…” he scoffed quietly, not at all thrilled about this. But as he was about to refuse, he paused as Thor lowered his hand as a step for him and he bit his lip. But his pride won out and gingerly he came forwards and then stepped on Thor’s hand, climbing up to crawl into the box, feeling an odd thrill of delight and power as he walked on top of his brother despite his tiny size. Perhaps this wouldn’t be so bad after all?

Thor was thrilled as Loki obeyed him so nicely, the weight of his brother feeling so wonderfully heavy and alive... oh he was going to enjoy this so much. He had been curious about this sensation for so long, but had been patient, not wanting to go to Loki when he was anything but at full strength. Now he felt he had earned his reward, and he wanted to make the most of it. He nodded a little as Loki got into the case, and after waiting for the man to settle, he closed it and lifted it carefully. Heading out of the tank, he hid the shrinking tech behind a panel, and shut the cell after him before walking confidently to the main door, and leaving, pleased to see the guards coming back to their positions. He greeted them as he passed, and then kept walking, so very eager to reach his destination now... oh he was going to enjoy this!
Reaching his quarters, he walked inside, and locked the door, something he never did unless he absolutely did not want to be disturbed. Once there, he went out onto the balcony, and settled down in one of the chairs there... Loki had spoken of fresh air, and this was a very good place to get some... nice view, secure location... completely private! Especially good for him.
Smiling to himself, but quickly changing his expression to something serious, he set down the case carefully on the table beside him, and opened it up, peeking inside before opening it all the way. “Here we are,” he said, “Just a short trip for the first one... if all goes well we will be able to visit other places in future.” He leaned back in his chair slightly, enjoying being in this situation... in such anticipation. He would allow Loki to get his hopes up slightly... and then he would strike.

[CONTINUED IN PART TWO]
Hello, everyone! I said I was going to do this a while ago, so here we go.

As I have mentioned before, :iconliamslostangel: and I often influence each other, and we also do a lot of RPs together. We do them to test new OCs, to explore ideas that are too small to be full-blown stories, and just to have vorish fun with whatever characters we please. :evillaugh:
This RP here is the very first one we did using the Avengers from the 2012 marvel movie. We did this pretty much right after the movie came out, focusing on Thor and Loki. We have done plenty more since then, using other characters, but this was our first time playing with these fellows.

And as noted in the story above: this RP takes place after the Avengers movie but before ‘Thor: The Dark World’, but the technology that Thor uses in this RP is from LLA’s Avengers story, found here: liamslostangel.deviantart.com/…
Go read that first if you haven't already. It's a really good one. :)

I hope this format doesn’t cause any confusion. When we RP together, we make our posts rather lengthy, so it is more like we are writing a story together than just RPing. We do not put our names by our posts, but instead we just write from the POV of whichever character we are playing as.

In this RP, I played as Loki, and LLA played as Thor. So any of Loki's thoughts or actions are my doing, and any of Thor's are LLA's.

I am curious about how this will be received, as neither of us have tried posting an RP before, but we will see how this goes! This will be posted alternatively between the two of us. I will post Part one, they'll post Part 2, I'll post Part 3, etc.

If you have trouble reading/deciphering this, please tell me below what you found difficult so I know what I can try and tweak in the other chapters to make them easier to read.
Or you can just read the whole thing as an oddly sectioned story! :)

Please leave your opinions below and let me know how you enjoy it!
